e-ride Zero Emissions Vehicles now on NC State Contract

11/19/2008

Raleigh, NC ...

The State of North Carolina has selected e-Ride vehicles for inclusion on state contract, a move that attests to the wide acceptance in governmental agencies to this environmentally friendly transportation solution.  E-Ride electric vehicles are licensable as Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs), also know as Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs), for use on city streets where speed limits do not exceed 35 mph.

Colleges and Universities find the two passenger flat-bed cargo version particularly useful in various maintenance applications because of the vehicle’s robust construction, roomy and comfortable cab, and hefty cargo capacity.  The wide array of available options, such as tool boxes and ladder racks, increase the product’s versatility.

Even in mountainous areas of the state, e-Ride rises to the challenge due to a technologically advanced optional AC drive system which allows the e-Ride to charge up hills that would stall an ordinary electric vehicle.

Also available in a roomy and stylish four-door version (often compared to a Hummer in appearance) the e-Ride provides an economical, quite and environmentally sustainable way to transport up to four adults in comfort for up to 50 miles between battery charging.
